2. Many turtles can hide their head inside their shells when they are being attacked by predators.

3. Sea turtles have special glands that help remove salt from their water they drink.

4. Turtles have existed for around 215 million years.

5. Turtles are cold-blooded

6. Turtles can weight over 900 kgs (2000lb).

7. Turtles lay eggs.

8. Many turtle species are endangered.

9. In some turtle species, the temperature determines if the turtle egg will develop into a male or a female egg, the higher the temperature is a female, the lower the temperature is a male.

   10. Turtles are reptiles.
